KLS Energy was planning the development of the 35MW Wind and Solar Power Plant, near Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Project company is KLS Energy Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. KLS Energy signed an EPC contract with China Machinery Engineering Company in October 2011. The project is to operate under a BOO contract. Commissioning was expected for 2013. In December 2011 it was reported the company held a generation licence from the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. The project included 40 wind turbines, 50 acres of solar PV panels, and an electricity storage system.
