Description | Lane Construction Corp. has begun carrying out a flood protection project in Kansas City for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It entails 17 miles of levee and floodwall improvements to the Argentine, Armourdale and Central Industrial District Levee Units along the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kan., and Missouri. It will require over 1 million cu yd of earthwork, nearly 25,000 ft of new concrete floodwall, 120 new relief wells, replacement of 12 high-traffic railroad closure structures and improvements to nearly 40 drainage structures. Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026. The contract award was $258 million. |
