Description | The project entails the development of a multipurpose terminal and ship repairing facilities at Karanja Creek, Village Chhanje, district Raigad, Maharashtra, India. The project would be built under a 30-year BOOT concession. The Karanja Terminal was located near the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT). Project sponsor was Skil Ports & Logistics Ltd. Concession was awarded by Maharashtra Maritime Board. EPC contractors were ITD India Cementation Ltd and Starwort Engineers Pvt Ltd. The project attained financial closure on 28th February 2014 at a debt/equity ratio of 49/51. Financing comprised US$ 78.7mn (INR 4800mn @61 INR/USD) 10-year term loan and US$ 82.1mn (INR 5008.9mn) sponsor equity. Lenders were Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, Vijaya Bank and Punjab & Sind Bank. Facility agent was Canara Bank. |
