The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has set a generic ceiling tariff of ₹3.24 per unit for wind power projects for the fiscal years 2026-27 to 2028-29. The tariff aims to provide a clear pricing structure for electricity distribution companies to procure wind energy through competitive bidding, balancing investment needs and consumer affordability. The capital cost benchmark was revised to ₹7.25 crore per MW, and operation and maintenance expenses were set at ₹11.25 lakh per MW for the first year with a 4.5% annual escalation. The Capacity Utilization Factor is retained at 33%, with financial parameters including a 14% Return on Equity and 9.5% interest rate on debt.
