Katni Grade Separator/Bye Pass

Information IRCON MP has come up with Katni Grade Separator/Bye Pass with a ticket size of 1247.64 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Katni grade separator, once complete, would be the longest rail bridge among the 16 railway zones of the country. The total length would be 21 km up and downside, and the down line of the bridge would be of 7 km. Katni shall have Indias longest railway bridge, 14 km on the up line, almost three and half times longer than Vembanad rail bridge in Kerala that connects Edappally and Vallarpadam in Kochi and is 4.62 km long. Bridge would pass above Katni yard and connect with Bina line. Both goods and passenger trains would be benefitted from the bridge that would be equipped with digital signaling and maintained online. Currently, due to traffic congestion, goods trains are cleared only after for 2 to 4 hours via new Katni junction. Once the bridge is complete, trains that dont halt at Katni junction can pass directly through the bridge and head towards Bina. This project was earlier a part of the Katni-Singrauli doubling project pegged at Rs 7,000 crore, but a separate proposal was approved by the Railway Board.
