Information Western Railway [WR] - II has come up with Katosan Rd.-Chanasma-Ranuj Gauge Conversion with a ticket size of 976 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project In line with National Logistics Policy and PM Gati Shakti National Masterplan for Multimodal connectivity targets to reduce logistics costs and improve logistics performance index ranking of the state, rail network with efficient supply chain and increase in automobile traffic share.Due to the execution of the project, it is anticipated that around 4 lakhs cars shall be transported using the Railways which is comparatively cleaner mode of transportation, not only helps automobile industry to quickly transport bulk volumes over long distances, but also gives opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint. The project shall facilitate MBSIR to bring investment of INR 70,000 Crore and shall create immense employment opportunities in the state of Gujarat.project Divided into two Phases: Phase 1Katoson Rd- Becharaji ,25 Km and 3 Km connectivity from this line to MSIL siding & Phase 2, Becharaji to Ranuj,40 KmPhase 1 successfully commissioned on 24 March 2023, around 100 rakes of automobile dispatched in 3 moths from MSIL siding.Phase 2 will be completed by March 2024
