A $3.3 billion to $3.5 billion first phase of a seven-part master plan to redevelop the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The project involves flipping the existing convention center 90 degrees to reorient it north-south, extending it toward Interstate 30, creating a downtown-facing 'Great Hall' entry, a rooftop ballroom, and condensing meeting space to span two city blocks instead of six. The facility will have 1 million square feet of sellable space with expanded ballrooms and exhibition areas to keep Dallas competitive for global events.
