Description | The Kayraktepe Hydropower Project will support the Governments strategy of developing Turkey's energy resources, through financing a 420 MW hydropower station on the Goksu river in Southern Turkey. The plant will generate around 990 GWh per year of electric energy, it will also help protect the rich Silifke plain and the city of Silifke from possible floods. In addition the project will provide technical assistance to DSI (State Hydraulic Authority) in cost accounting, and to MENR (Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources) in carrying out a national ranking of hydroelectric resources. |
