Description | New transit-only lanes are being introduced in downtown Kansas City as part of the KC Streetcar expansion project. These lanes will be restricted to RideKC buses and streetcars to improve traffic flow, reduce delays, and enhance safety for riders and operators. The lanes will be marked with solid red pavement or alternating red and white lines, with some featuring curbs or plastic delineators to prevent unauthorized vehicle entry. Enforcement of these lanes will begin when the streetcar extension opens on October 24, 2025. |
