KCMH Interior and Exterior Repairs

This project involves interior and exterior repairs to Kings County Memorial Hospital. The scope of the work includes: Kitchen Renovation (2200 sq.ft.) - ($670,000)replace all existing sanitary drainage after a functional layout assessment has been completed to place kitchen equipment in a more efficient and functional layout;-replace grease interceptor and associated branch piping; install a dedicated make-up air system; and replace existing freezers, coolers and washware fixtures. Heat Exchanger Replacement - ( $225,000) the facility’s two (2) existing steam boilers uses a single heat exchanger to transfer steam heat to the hydronic heating sytem throughout the 42,000 sq.ft. hospital. The existing heat exhanger is in need of replacing, along with all associated piping. Main Reception Renovation (1400 sq.ft.) - ( $200,000) currently the main lobby services all visitors to KCMH, where they complete the registration documentation before being directed to a common waiting are. Renovations for a more funtional floor plan would include new partitions, flooring, millwork, lighting and ventilation. Building Envelope Repairs - ( $500,000)repairs to the failing roof membrane and perimeter metal flashing & siding is required. Thermo imaging has identified water infiltration in the two-ply modified roof system, selective repairs are required to remove saturated insulation and repairs to the identified problems ( approx 15,000 sq ft). The metal siding and perimeter flashing (apprx. 1450 lin. ft.) has also been identified as a source of water infiltration; removal and replacement of the metal siding and flashing using modern building techniques will ensure a tighter envelope to ensure the facility remains operational into the future. The aim of the project is to support economic recovery, create a safe and productive work environment, and address operational and environmental issues.
