Description

Objectives: To promote child safeguarding policies in sports settings in Romania and Greece, as a means to protect and safeguard children. Specific objectives: -to ensure children are protected in sports and camp settings through dedicated safeguarding policies, -to build capacities of professionals in contact with children, -to empower children, and -to encourage multi-country exchange and cooperation regarding child safeguarding in sports and recreational settings. Activities: Create a Steering Committee and a Children Advisory Board; conduct a baseline study conducted, organize capacity building for staff of sports clubs and camps, conduct trainings with children and child protection specialists, support clubs and camps to develop child safeguarding policies, create the Quality Label “Child Safe Environment”, identify its logo with child participation, award label to sports clubs and camps, if applying child safeguarding policies, raise awareness among child protections authorities, share best practices with a wider audience and the project results will be multiplied by using the online community ChildHub. Beneficiaries: Children in sports and camps: 240 direct, 36000 indirect. Staff of sports clubs and camps: 280 direct, 1680 indirect. Sports clubs and camps: 40 direct, 250 indirect. Child protection authorities: 120. Expected results: Child safeguarding systems are researched and promoted within sports clubs and camps, ensure the respect of the child safeguarding principles, children will have an increased awareness about the safeguarding principles and best practices will be shared for a wider audience at European level. Deliverables: 1 baseline report 1 Child Advisory Group 2 ToTs 40 trainings child safeguarding policies in 24 clubs and camps 1 quality label on Child Safe Environment created 1 media campaign 40 clubs and camps awarded the quality label 100 trainings for children 4 round-tables 1 e-learning module 1 international conference.
