Description
Description | The proposed project at the existing Kelowna H2O Adventure & Fitness Centre will upgrade the building’s heat recovery, HVAC equipment, and lighting, and install approximately 100 kW of solar photovoltaics and approximately 10 Level-2 electric vehicle charging ports. The project will reduce the building’s greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 70% by reducing natural gas use, generating clean energy, and improving public access to clean energy transportation. The facility continues to be owned by the City of Kelowna and operated by YMCA Okanagan, as has been the case since the facility opened in 2009. The project works will include: - LED lighting; - heat recovery system upgrades; - air-source and dual-source heat pumps to replace select heating and cooling equipment; - variable-frequency drives on pool pumps; - ventilation controls; - solar photovoltaic array with approximately 100 kW capacity; - approximately 10 Level-2 electric vehicle charging stations; - electrical system upgrades for future EV charging expansion; and - mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances. |
