Kelowna - Rutland to Okanagan Rail Trail Shared Pathway

The project will increase access to active transportation by connecting two major networks currently in the City of Kelowna. The project will ensure a safe corridor exists for cyclists and pedestrians to connect to the Okanagan Rail Trail from the Houghton Active Transportation Corridor. The project will interlink two major networks in the community including a crossing of Highway 97. The project will allow for a connected pathway from residential areas to the Okanagan rail trail. The project works include: - construction of a 3-4 m wide multi-use pathway including preparation and paving; -installation of multi-use crossings; -electrical, mechanical, electronics and lighting; -installation of a pedestrian bridge including rip rap and abutments; -landscaping and stormwater works including catchbasins, curbs and gutters and dry wells; -signage and user counter; -traffic islands where required; and, -all related works
