Kelowna O&M Facility Upgrades

This project is to design and construct upgrades that replace and enhance end of life components as well as optimizing operational efficiencies at the existing Kelowna Transit Centre. The project supports transit service expansion and enables an initial deployment of BEB fleet. Rapid population growth in the region is forecasting increases in daily ridership that will require the addition of 20 buses and 50,000 additional service hours to meet demand over the next seven years. Project scope includes enhancements to increase maintenance capacity and efficiency, including construction of employee safety and convenience amenities; parts store area; replacement of end-of-life components including lighting, doors, ventilation, and bus wash; safety and security equipment; and restructuring of existing fleet parking space to improve efficiency and accommodate BEB vehicles.
