A sovereign loan to the Kyrgyz Republic, to be on-lent to the Joint-Stock Company National Electric Grid of Kyrgyz Republic (“NEGK”) to finance the construction of an approximate 53 km 500 kV overhead transmission line (OHTL) in Kyrgyz Republic between the existing Kemin substation (SS) in Chui region and a new substation named “Balykchy, SS”, 6.4 km outside Balykchy city in the Issyk-Kul region (“Project”). NEGK is the transmission and distribution systems operator, that owns and operates more than 10,000 km of power transmission lines of 110 kV and higher, as well as 190 substations with primary voltages of 500, 220 or 110 kV. NEGK is 98.63% owned by the state (65.3% by Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyz Republic and 33.33% by the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyz Republic). The remaining 1.37% shares are owned by minority shareholders. The primary objective of the Project is to support evacuation of c.1 GW renewable energy power plants under development to the national power grid. Implementing the Project will also significantly improve the transmission networks’ reliability, efficiency, stability, quality and security of the electricity supply.
