Construction began in March 2025 with road construction to the dam site at Daudhan village in the Panna Tiger Reserve's core area, involving felling of trees and causing wildlife disturbance. The project includes submergence of about 60 sq km of the reserve's core area and plans for compensatory afforestation and reserve extension. |
