Description

The pilot tests electric passenger vans on the Nyahururu–Nyeri, Nyahururu–Nakuru, and Thika–Nairobi corridors in partnership with 4NTE Sacco and Manchester Travellers Sacco. The vans can cover up to 300 kilometers on a single charge and recharge in about 1.5 hours, supported by charging infrastructure installed in Nyahururu and Thika. The project uses a Pay-As-You-Drive lease model to reduce financial burden on operators and aims to deploy over 1,000 electric vans across Kenya in the coming years, aligning with the country's climate goals.
