The project is valued at more than Sh500 billion and is expected to employ about 10,000 people, many from Siaya, while stimulating local and national economic growth. The Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) will partner with Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) to introduce education and research programs in nuclear engineering to build human capital for Kenya's nuclear future. Kenya is also building a nuclear research reactor at the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Konza. |
