Description | Karnataka has developed and launched its own state-built AI personal computer called KEO (Knowledge-driven, Economical and Open-source). It is a low-cost device aimed at providing easier access to modern computing for students, engineers, creators, innovators, small businesses, and households. The device is built on an open-source RISC-V processor, runs a Linux-based operating system, supports 4G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, and includes USB-A and USB-C ports, HDMI and audio support. It comes preloaded with learning, programming, and productivity tools and features an on-device AI core for offline applications. The project was developed by the Department of Electronics, IT & BT in partnership with KEONICS and aims to close the digital access gap in Karnataka. |
