Information National Thermal Power Corporation [NTPC] has come up with Kerandari Coal Block with a ticket size of 2804 INR Crores. This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Ministry of coal allocated the Kerandari coal block to NTPC on 08.09.2015 under CMSP Act, it has Geological reserves of 285 MT, Production Target: Nov.2019 Annual rated capacity: 6 MTPA, Geological Report available. Mining Plan approved by MOC. Environment Clearance accorded by MOEF. Stage-I forest clearance accorded by MOEF. MDO - Under tendering. All notifications for mining area land acquisition completed. RAP approved by NTPC Board. Payment for 769 acres of land compensation disbursed to Project Affected families, till date. Govt. of Jharkhand transferred 242 acres of Govt. land to NTPC. Total expenditure of approx Rs 1369 Cr incurred so far. Stage-II forest clearance was accorded by MOEF&CC on 28.08.2019. Consent to operate accorded by JSPCB on 28.12.2019. Seam opening permission granted by Coal Controller on 13.01.2020. Forest land transferred and tree cutting permission granted to NTPC in Jan22. Start of mining by Apr23. Issues- Relocation / resettlement of priority 205 Homestead Oustees HSOs from 1st yr. mining area and priority 32 HSOs from the conveyor corridor area. Resolving / authentication of - Bakast Land 2.94 acres- No Mutation Cases 0.40 acres- Without title / dispute cases [5.11 acres], which are required urgently for 1st year of mining.
