Description
Description | Keswick River Bridge #1 is located 20 kms west of Fredericton along Route 105. The structure is 64m long with four spans (all reinforced concrete T-beams) built in 1949 with a rating of 43,500 kgs. Through inspection, it was identified that the bridge has concrete deterioration at the abutments, end diaphragms and beam bottom flanges which presents a loss in structural capacity. Given the current state of concrete deterioration and reinforcing steel corrosion this structure requires rehabilitation. Exact details of the rehabilitation are unknown at this time and will be developed once design is started. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) would plan to start project development in 2024/25 with a two year construction schedule starting in 2026/27. |
