Description

Description

The First Microfinance Bank Tajikistan (FMFB-T) is a private microfinance institution that has been operating since 2003 and is a joint-stock company under Tajik law. FMFB-T is part of the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM), which operates in over 15 developing countries. AKAM brings together various programs that offer microfinance services through integrated development programs and independent microfinance institutions. The aim of the FC measure is to sustainably improve access to loans and financial services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and for private households with low to medium incomes. By providing additional equity and refinancing funds in local currency, FMFB can continue its planned growth and expand its range of financial services, including in rural regions of Tajikistan. The overarching development policy goal of the project is to contribute to creating and securing employment and income and to cushioning income fluctuations.
