Description | The Khadakwasla–Phursungi underground canal project involves constructing a 28-km closed pipeline to transport clean water directly to Phursungi, eliminating exposure to pollutants and reducing the risk of canal breaches that cause waterlogging and damage. The project started last year, with work currently underway in four areas: Kolhewadi, Wadachiwadi, Dhayari, and Uruli Devachi. A 3 km stretch has been completed, and the remaining 25 km is expected to be finished within the next three years. The project will free up land along the existing open canal for urban use such as roads, gardens, and public amenities. |
