Description | The Khador Hydro Power Project was awarded a 20 year build-own-operate (BOO) contract to the Georgian company Peri to build and operate two 12MW hydro units located in Pankisi George, Georgia. The construction of Khador Hydro Electric Plants was completed by China’s Sichuan Electric Power in 2003. The hydro electric project had a generating capacity of 24 MW from two units of 12 MW each, and the first unit became operational in January 2004. The Khador Hydro Electric Project was owned and operated by the Chinese Sichuan Electric Power under a 20-year joint venture with the Georgian Peri company, with the Chinese holding a 93 percent stake.
