Economic/Social Impact of the Project Kharsang Oil Field located at District Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh commenced commercial production of oil in 1983 under the aegis of Oil India Limited. The field was awarded by the Government of India to a Consortium of Oil India Limited [40percentage], Jubilant Energy [Kharsang] Private Limited [25percentage], Geopetrol International Inc. [25percentage] and GeoEnpro Petroleum Limited [10percentage] in the year 1995 under a Production Sharing Contract [PSC] for a period of 25 years effective from June 16, 1995 i.e. up to June 15, 2020. GeoEnpro was designated as the Operator of the Kharsang Oil Field. The project refers to the Development and Exploratory drilling project in Kharsang Oil Field. The project proposes Development Drilling of forty [40] wells and Exploratory Drilling of five [05] wells. Upon successful discovery and establishing commercial viability in deeper prospects production operations shall be carried out in these wells.
