Description | In September 2005, Government of Iran sold 350 MW Khoy Combined Cycle Power Plant (KCCPP), located in West Azerbaijan province, to a consortium of two local firms – Sanir Company and Niru Investment Company. The sale was part of a privatization deal initialed in 2004 and was finalized after the power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed with Tavanir Company, state-owned vertically integrated power utility, in September, 2005. KCCPP exported excess energy production (after meeting the plant's contractual obligations to Tavanir Company) to Turkey. The 350 MW plant comprised of two 123.4 MW gas turbines and a 102.5 MW steam turbine. There was no public information on the sale price of KCCPP. None None |
