Revived the “the second Middle East boom” Khuaris 200km northeast of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, has 550 million cubic feet of natural gas and 70,000 barrels of liquified natural gas (LNG) currently produced. This is also the site of the Khuaris Gas Processing Plant completed in June, 2009 by Hyundai E&C where steel cylinders and kilometers of pipelines were twisted.Gained trust with the unique knowhow of Hyundai E&CHyundai E&C won the USD 780 million Khuaris Gas Processing Plant(SONE) project ordered by Saudi Aramco in September 2006. SONE is an oil field located about 200km northeast of Riyadh and the plant can produce 550 million cubic feet of natural gas and 70,000 barrels of LNG per day. Besides the gas processing plant, it also has three units of tanks can store 600,000 barrels of crude oil and incineration plants. By winning the contract, Hyundai E&C was able to capture an advantageous position in winning the following construction projects to be ordered by Saudi Arabia the world’s largest crude oil and natural gas holder.Excelled with our matchless technical competenceWhile proceeding the construction, we experienced disputes between people from the same nationality and those from different nationalities since we mobilized multinational workforce from about ten countries. We also went through the fall of equipment during the transportation. However, we were able to swiftly resolve all the problems with cooperation of the support team in the headquarters and outstanding management skill experienced field employees possessed.With the hard work and effort of all our employees, we obtained 97 points in quality management, the highest level in quality grade evaluation conducted monthly by the ordering organization in March 2009. We also successfully completed the SONE project by achieving accident-free in all the processes, which would set a new milestone in the history of our plant construction. Furthermore, the trust built with the ordering organization through the SONE project had a great influence in winning the Karan Gas Processing Plant project.
