Description | The project involves the development of a 1,500 km long direct current (HVDC) transmission line connecting Kimal and Lo Aguirre substations located in the Antofagasta and Metropolitana regions, respectively. The scope of works involves the development of an HVDC transmission line with a dedicated metallic return and two AC to DC converter substations near existing stations.The transmission line will operate in parallel to the Kimal-Cardones-Polpaico power line. The new transmission line aims to transport renewable energy throughout the 1,500 kilometers of area in Chile with the objective of sustainable development in the Energy sector. |
