Description | Ameresco has been appointed as the Engineering Service Provider for the design and construction phases of the UK's first Green Hydrogen Program in the consumer goods sector. The project involves installing five new dual-fuel Hydrogen/Natural Gas Boilers at Kimberly-Clark's plants in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, and Northfleet, Kent. The project includes developing new and refurbished boiler houses and infrastructure to connect with new Hydrogen Production Facilities, enabling hydrogen consumption with natural gas backup. The boilers are expected to be operational in 2027, reducing natural gas consumption by 50% and cutting carbon emissions by an estimated 28,500 tonnes annually. |
