Description | Western Australian energy retailer Synergy has started construction of a 105-MW wind farm in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region. The King Rocks wind park will have 17 turbines with 125-meter towers, located north-east of Hyden, about 350 km east of Perth. The project is supported by AUD 513 million from the state government and is expected to generate electricity for up to 70,000 homes. Commissioning is scheduled for 2027. Danish manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems was selected to supply V162-6.2 MW turbines. Site approvals were finalized in late 2023. |
