Description
Description | This project consists of the removal of an aging cast iron watermain installed in 1891 along King Street in Niagara on the Lake to be replaced by 765 metres of 250 millimetre diameter polyvinyl chloride watermain. Cast iron watermain replacement has been a Town initiative for a number of years and remains a priority until all older watermains have been replaced to conform to the Region and Town standards. In particular, it is beneficial to the residents of this area because of the susceptibility of the older mains to break or rupture under extreme weather conditions. It will also ensure that residents receive the highest quality water supply. |
