Description | A joint project by AEP and Sharyland for a seven mile transmission line from Kingfisher to La Palma starting in 2026. It includes a new station named Shalabay connecting to the Palito and Kingfisher stations, serving as a 345k loop. This will provide four circuits in the Port of Brownsville area to serve 650 megawatts. The project was approved in December 2024 and is ongoing with CCN and routing studies currently underway. Groundbreaking is expected shortly with a projected start date in 2029. |
