Description

Description

This project consists of a complete rehabilitation of the Kingsland Depot. The rehabilitation will reconfigure existing offices into a new office for the Kingsland DDA Manager, workspace/common area, and an information area for brochures and displays for the downtown welcome center. The existing storage area of the depot will be rehabilitated to serve as a museum space for railroad and local heritage and cultural displays. Work will include pressure washing of the exterior, repair of damaged wood work, painting of the existing wood siding and trim, and installation of new electrical, lighting, HVAC, fire control and alarm, and plumbing systems to meet current code. New wooden steps and hand rails will be built at each entrance, including a new handicap ramp to the main entrance on the front porch. A railing system will be installed on the porch entrance to insure public safety. The interior space will be made handicaped accessible.
