Description | Opportunity Kingston General Hospital (KGH) is a community hospital affiliated with Queen’s University serving more than 500,000 people in south-eastern Ontario. The hospital is also home to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario. The first phase of hospital redevelopment was completed in 2012 using the build-finance model. In early 2017 Kingston General Hospital began building the case for a second phase of redevelopment. On October 27, 2017 the Government of Ontario announced its support for Phase 2 redevelopment. The project was included in Infrastructure Ontario’s 2017 Market Update. Phase 2 Redevelopment will include construction of an eight storey tower on Stuart Street to house a brand new emergency department, operating rooms, clinical labs, neonatal intensive care unit, labour and delivery unit as well as a data cemtre. |
