Description | The project involves the construction of the 34MW Kinguele Aval hydropower project on the Mbei River, 100km east of Libreville in Gabon. The special purpose vehicle (SPV) Asonha Energie is owned by Meridiam (60%) and Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (40%). The debt-to-equity ratio on the project financing is 75:25 and the €112.5 million debt financing is provided by AFDB, IFC, DBSA and ISDB. The new power plant will fulfil up to 13% of capital city Libreville’s energy needs.
