OAO KirovEnergoSbyt was an energy sales company engaged in the electricity power distribution serving residential and industrial consumers in Kyrov Oblast. The company was founded in 2005 and was based in Kirov, Russian Federation. The company served about 640,000 residential customers. Open Joint Stock company KirovEnergoSbyt was spun off its parent OAO KirovEnergo in May 2005 as part of the energy sector reform carried out in Russia. On December 4, 2007 RAO UES of Russia held an auction to sell the government-owned stake in KirovEnergoSbyt. IES-Holding, represented by the Center Region Invest LLC, purchased a 48.17% stake in Kirovenergosbyt at a price less than 1% above the initial bid or US$ 12.34 million. IES-Holding faced no competition for KirovEnergoSbyt. KirovEnergoSbyt was also owned by IES, Wilmington Investments Limited (18%) and Basly Management Limited (8%). In October 2009, it was reported that IES had increased its stake in KirovEnergoSbyt to 94.5% by buying out Wilmington Investments' share in the company.
