It will comprise high-voltage power lines and fibre-optic cables to provide electricity and broadband to several northern communities including Arviat, Whale Cove, Rankin Inlet, Chesterfield Inlet, and Baker Lake. The project aims to reduce reliance on diesel and U.S.-imported fossil fuels for electricity and provide a more secure internet connection than the current Starlink satellite service.
