Klimapark Steinhoefel Agrivoltaic Project

German solar project developer SUNfarming GmbH has started the implementation of an up to 753-MWp agri-PV plant in the eastern parts of Germany. The project, Klimapark Steinhoefel, will be located on an area of 500 hectares in the municipality of Steinhoefel in Brandenburg. The project features a dual-use agri-PV concept with solar modules installed at a minimum height of 2.1 metres to allow agricultural activities beneath them. SUNfarming has secured a contract for remuneration under Germany's Renewable Energy Act for the first 106 MWp section, with construction starting in Q4 2025. Building permits have been granted for the first 550 MWp and the associated substation, which will be built in cooperation with French multi-technical services provider Spie. The electricity generated will be fed into the high-voltage grid of the regional distribution system operator E.DIS.
