Description | Kluane N’tsi (Wind) Energy Project: the wind farm will be located between the communities of Burwash Landing and Destruction Bay, on the Western shore of Kluane Lake. The turbine(s) will be integrated into the existing, islanded, diesel power grid along with battery energy storage and a micro-grid control system in order to permit operation of the grid with diesel generation off, maximizing the wind energy contribution to the electricity grid. Kluane First Nation (KFN) is currently finalizing a 25 year Electricity Purchase Agreement with Atco. KFN Council will decide between either the Enercon 800 kW E-53 Turbine or the EWT DW 54 900 kW turbine in May 2021. |
