Klukwan Landslide Berm Redevelopment Project

The project involves redeveloping a berm to protect the Haines Highway, the village of Klukwan, and critical infrastructure from debris flows caused by a changing landslide path. The berm has been redirecting debris flows for over two decades, but sediment has started surging back toward the community. The funding will be used for project scoping, including permitting and planning, to prepare a shovel-ready project for future funding rounds.
