Description
Description | The project involves the design and upgrade of the Knik River bridge joints to include a permanent bump feature that sits just below the road surface. This design is intended to protect the joints from damage caused by snowplows. Additionally, faulty new asphalt near the bridge will be smoothed out after the state fair. The project includes placing a polyester-concrete overlay on the bridge decks to prevent rutting and removing paved median crossovers to avoid water pooling. The project is expected to be completed before the winter season, with a similar project planned for the Peters Creek bridge next year. |
