Knitted Fabrics project

This profile envisages the establishment of a plant for the production of knitted fabrics with a capacity of 640 tons per annum. Knitted fabrics consist entirely of parallel courses of yarn and are used to knit cut and sew general out wear (suit, one piece, coat, slacks, skirts, sweater, etc.) .The demand for knitted fabrics in Ethiopia is met through imports and domestic production. The demand is expected to reach knitted fabrics 960 tons by the year 2025. The principal raw materials required is cotton yarn which is available locally. The total investment requirement is estimated a USD 2.6 million, and the plant expected to create employment opportunities for about 130 persons. The ideal location must be near the availability of cotton yarn like Kombolcha, Amhara region.
