Knowledge and Multilevel Cooperation for Sustainable Urban Development in Amazonia

To collect and disseminate data and experiences on urban areas in the Amazon region, in order to promote the use of evidence in the formulation of policies, programs and projects, and investment priorities for sustainable urban development in the Amazon region. The specific objectives of this TC are: (i) Disseminate the main findings of the knowledge products of the TC "Intelligence and knowledge sharing for Amazonian cities" (RG-T4435), with special emphasis on their relevance for the pre-, during and post-COP30 contexts; (ii) Strengthen the dialogue with and among academia on sustainable urbanization in the Amazon, and between academia and practitioners, promoting the generation and transfer of knowledge that contributes to the formulation of public policies and sustainable local practices; and (iii) Promote the establishment of a Strategic Framework for Sustainable Urban Development for the Amazon through regional multilevel cooperation and its articulation with Amazonian national governments.
