The furnace will produce between 1.5 and 2.1 million tonnes of steel annually, potentially accounting for almost half of the plant's current output, while the overall steelmaking capacity remains 4.5 million tonnes per year. The project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 56% and nitrogen oxides by about 25%. Construction is expected to start in 2027, with operation beginning by 2030. |
