The overall objective of our MEDIA development slate application is to strengthen Komplizen Serien’s position on the European and international market. With Creative Europe support, we aim to grow and establish the company as one of the leading producers of high quality, impactful, and entertaining serial content in Europe, while preserving our creative independence as a producer. The objective of our slate is to explore new formats and partnerships, foster new talent, and increase our competitiveness in a changing media landscape. The activities will predominantly include the further development of our five slate projects, comprising three TV series and two feature films. Our focus will be on the creative development as well as the creative (and partly also the financial) packaging of each project. The slate will strongly benefit the entire Komplizen Serien team, comprising the two managing directors, producers, development producers, line producers and production coordinators, since the financial support is an important building block for the further establishment of the company as such. At this stage, 12 writers and creators are involved in our slate projects, with another 6-8 writers and directors expected to join during development. With our slate application and the financial support of MEDIA, we expect a strong increase in the feasibility, quality and overall market value of the projects. This will allow us to go into production in 2025/2026, creating jobs in several European countries. The prospects of collaborating with our preferred partners outside of Germany, will also further stimulate our company’s growth. Overall, the slate will not only help us to reach the independent cinema audience, but also a more diversified, younger and wider international TV audience.
