Sponsor of the project is BioTherm Energy. The facility benefits from a 20-year PPA with national Utility Eskom. The project achieved Preferred Bidder status under Round 4 of the REIPPP Programme in South Africa in April 2015 and has been brought to financial close on 24 July 2018 in line with the progress of the REIPPP programme. In June 2019, MIGA issued $45 million guarantee to cover equity and shareholder loan investments in 2 solar power plants, Konkoonsies II and Aggeneys. IJGlobal
