Description

Description

The project involves the delivery of all laboratory and imaging services across the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), located in Accra, Ghana, including the maintenance and operation of the existing “satellite” laboratory and imaging services currently within some of the hospital departments. The private partner will also design, construct, finance and operate a radiology and imaging services centre. The new centre will provide laboratory testing services to patients from the seven polyclinics in the Greater Accra Region.Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) is the third largest in Africa with 16 clinical and diagnostic departments and a bed capacity of 2,000. The hospital reports that it has an average daily attendance of 1,360 outpatients and approximately 125 patient admissions.A more integrated service is also being considered for the project where the private sponsor would provide phlebotomy services at key hospital departments and surrounding polyclinics, regular courier and portering services, and electronic reporting of results.
