Information South Central Railway [SCR] - II has come up with Kovvuru-Bhadrachalam Road New Rail Line [151 km] with a ticket size of 2868 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Kovvuru-Bhadrachalam Road New Rail Line [151 km] traverse through Telangana [78.5 km] and Andhra Pradesh [72.5 km] states covering parts of West Godavari Khammam Karimnagar and Adilabad Districts. The objective of the project is to develop backward areas of Khammam and West Godavari districts. It will provide a direct link to the famous pilgrimage centre Bhadrachalam Temple town with coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. The project was sanctioned in the year 2012 2013 at a cost of Rs. 923.23 crore. 50percentage cost of the project will be shared by Government of Telangana and 50percentage by Government of Andhra Pradesh for the portion of project lengths in their states. In the same area one more project from Bhardrachalam Road to Sattupalli [53.20 km] was sanctioned in 2010-11 with terms that Ms. Singareni Collieries Company Limited [SCCL] will bear the full cost of the project excluding land which is to be borne by Railways . The alignment of new line of Bhadrachalam Road Sattupalli can be followed for a distance of 23.80 km ie upto Chandragonda station for the project of Bhadrachalam Kovvur new BG line as a common alignment. For the proposed change of alignment, consent of government of Telangana and no objection from SCCL is required. SCCL has agreed to utilize the common alignment. The consent government of Telangana is awaited. Final location survey is in progress from Kovvur to Chandragonda stations. Land acquisition will be processed after sanction of DPR and detailed estimate. Revised anticipated cost- INR 2154.83 Crore
