Description | The Kozhikode–Wayanad twin-tube tunnel project aims to improve connectivity between Kozhikode and Wayanad by bypassing the congested and landslide-prone Thamarassery Ghat section of NH 766. The project includes an approximately 8.17 km tunnel from Anakkampoyil in Kozhikode to Kalladi near Meppadi in Wayanad, reducing travel distance by around 40 km and cutting journey time. It will be the third-longest road tunnel in India, enhancing regional transport links and economic development. The project also includes a 17.5 km approach road between Thiruvambady and Marippuzha. |
