Description

Description

This proposal is dedicated to the organisation of two editions of the Krakow Film Festival (KFF): 64th (26th May - 2nd June 2024) and 65th (25th May - 1st June 2025). KFF is one of the oldest European film events presenting documentary, animated and short fiction films. Its main goal is the dissemination of European and world artistic cinema, especially documentary, animated and short fiction films, among a wide audience and audience building among new generations. The festival’s core is a selection of various films from different parts of the world, mostly European ones, with a big number of films from low capacity countries, presenting intriguing topics and diverse genres. It’s a gallery of original trends and the place for fascinating young talents debuting in the film as well as outstanding masters who present their lifetime achievements. Festival editions presented in this proposal will be hybrid events. They will take place in cinemas and simultaneously on the Internet and will consist of 3 international and 1 national competition and 10 thematic non-competitive series including cycles dedicated exclusively to European cinema. We expect to screen at least 120 non-national European films representing all EU countries each year. It will be more than 60% of all presented films. We hope to host around 80-100 filmmakers from Europe. KFF will be accompanied by KFF Industry addressed towards film professionals (producers, directors, distributors, sales agents, festivals, broadcasters). We expect our audience to be around 40 000 each year. Except for regular film screenings the festival will offer diverse satellite events, like music concerts, photo exhibitions, open-air screenings, and also year-round events: film screening cycles and film distribution. KFF is Oscar® and EFA qualifying festival in the short film (fiction, animation, documentary) and full-length documentary categories.
